Our goal at Buckled in Blessings is to financially assist families as they navigate through tragedy as a result of serious vehicle accidents. In the process we hope to educate the importance of seat belt use, and save lives.

It all started with a traffic citation. On February 22nd, I was pulled over on my way to get my vehicle smog check for registration. When asked the infamous question, "Do you know why I pulled you over today?" my initial thought was my registration. To my surprise, "You weren't wearing your seat belt." were his next words. I never wore my seat belt. I had a small list of reasons, though none matter.. now I have a long list of reasons why I religiously wear it. Just five days later from receiving this ticket, I was involved in a double rollover vehicle accident. I sustained life altering injuries as a result. Even with my injury, I was reminded of the alternative if I had not been wearing the seat belt. Since that day, it is my very first thought when I travel.
Save a Life
In the first seconds of getting into your vehicle, your first action should be getting your seat belt on. In today's world, we are distracted with every day tasks. Most people will plug in their phone, enter in GPS navigation, adjust the radio, or their air conditioner. NONE of those tasks will save your life. One of the many goals of this organization is to remind you every time you enter a vehicle, in hopes that it will save a life.
Bless a Family
In the aftermath of my accident I struggled daily, and my finances were in trouble. Lucky for me I was young, and still living with my family. They helped by paying for the little bills that I did have. I was working, so I was able to file for unemployment. Unfortunately, I waited five months before receiving my first and very small benefits. This seemed absurd to me.
Buckled in Blessings ultimate goal is to assist families in times just like that. Emergencies and Unexpected Tragedies should not be the reason a family cannot put food on the table or a roof over their head. We hope to help wherever we can, from delivering home cooked meals to covering mortgage or rent payments!
